Our Lives: Community
November 25 at 8pm
Španski borci cultural centre, Ljubljana
International improvisational delight where artists from seven countries meet on stage. Performers from different cultural, economic, political as well as artistic environments dive into the topic of community. First example to playfully explore is right here – international community of theatre improvisers. Or even better, a community of people interested in spontaneous artistic creation. Meeting each other, among other occasions, right at this very evening.
Life in contemporary forms of capitalism is becoming unbearable and one of the strategies of survival is to develop and protect at all costs small communities that offer us different relations. With art we cannot cause and do not aim at causing great social changes but we can make room for collective creation, a space where it is possible to survive and even have a good time.
Together we will only spend two hours within this specific constellation - space, time, all the people involved, audience and artists - but this is no reason not to touch upon a very important human question "How do we actually want to live together?". Every moment is worth asking this question and by doing so, we are finding answers on the way.
The performance Our Lives: Community is a part of a bigger international theatre project Our Lives, which connects improvisational artists from all the current 28 countries of European Union. It thematically explores lives and ways of living within European Union.
